What is Black Friday?

Black Friday is known as the day that begins the Christmas shopping season, more than a period of discounts, the biggest event of special promotions of the year.

Some attribute the name to the day that begins the era in which businesses manage to change the red numbers for black ones. Others, however, claim that it began when The New York Times first used it, alluding to the chaos produced in the city due to the deep discounts the day after "Thanksgiving".

When is celebrated?

It is celebrated the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, that is, the day after the fourth Thursday of November.
